In the words of late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, women should have the choice of what to do with their bodies. Bright Future is horrified and deeply saddened by the passing of recent laws in the state of Texas. The law states that abortion is illegal after 6 weeks of pregnancy, leaving no time for a choice to be made. This law will not stop abortions, it will only stop safe abortion, leaving many without access to proper avenues putting women and girls in further danger.
Although you may not feel the effects of these laws today, we feel the danger of women’s rights slipping away. When the penalty for seeking an abortion involving a rape case is more than that of the rape it self, it is clear what the mission of this law is. It is clear we must continue to fight for the rights of women and girls in our country. It is our job to stand up for the women in our lives and the women of our generation and to preserve the progress we have made. Our organization is committed to protecting the rights of all human beings, and most importantly the future, Gen Z.
Sincerely,
Jack Ramirez
President, Bright Future
